Privacy policy

Effective date: 23 May 2026 | Last updated: 23 May 2026

1. Who we are

datestool.com is operated from the Netherlands. For privacy enquiries, contact .

2. What personal data we process

datestool.com does not collect any data you enter into the calculators. All date calculations are performed locally in your browser using JavaScript. No inputs, results, or usage patterns are transmitted to or recorded by us.

The only personal data processed is what is automatically recorded by our hosting provider's server logs when your browser requests a page from datestool.com.

Data element What it is
IP address The numeric address of the device requesting the page.
Requested URL The path of the page being viewed.
Date and time Timestamp of the request, in UTC.
Browser and device The user-agent string sent by your browser.
HTTP response Status code (e.g. 200, 404) and bytes transferred.
Response time How long the server took to handle the request.

These logs are generated automatically by the web server and are not associated with any account, profile, or persistent identifier on our side.

3. Why we process it and on what legal basis

Server logs are retained for the purpose of site security, abuse prevention, and troubleshooting. The legal basis is legitimate interests under GDPR Article 6(1)(f), supported by Recital 49, which explicitly recognises network and information security as a legitimate interest of a service provider.

No processing on this site relies on your consent. There is no profiling, no automated decision-making, and no targeted advertising.

4. Who receives your data

Your IP address and server log data are processed by our hosting provider as a data processor acting on our behalf.

Hosting provider: Bluehost Inc. (a subsidiary of Newfold Digital, Inc.), 5335 Gate Pkwy, Jacksonville, FL 32256, USA. Contact: .

We have a Data Processing Agreement in place with Bluehost via Newfold Digital's Data Processing Addendum, incorporating EU Standard Contractual Clauses under Commission Decision 2021/914. No other third party receives your data. We do not sell, rent, or share personal data.

5. International transfers

Bluehost's servers are located in the United States. Your server log data is therefore transferred to a third country. This transfer is governed by the EU Standard Contractual Clauses (Commission Decision 2021/914) incorporated into Newfold Digital's Data Processing Addendum.

6. How long we keep your data

Server logs are retained by Bluehost for a minimum of 30 days, after which they are automatically deleted. We do not archive logs beyond this period. No other personal data is retained.

7. Cookies and local storage

This site does not set any cookies. It does not use localStorage or any other persistent storage mechanism. One sessionStorage entry may be written if you use the theme toggle — this is cleared automatically when you close your browser tab and is never transmitted anywhere. The shareable URLs used by the calculators encode your inputs in the URL query string, which is transmitted by your browser and is not storage in the legal sense.

Because no cookies or equivalent technologies are used for non-essential purposes, no cookie consent banner is required or displayed.

8. Analytics and advertising

datestool.com does not use Google Analytics or any other third-party analytics service. There is no advertising on this site. When advertising is introduced in a future version, this policy will be updated before that change takes effect.

9. Third-party scripts and assets

All fonts, icons, scripts, and assets are served from datestool.com's own server. No external CDN, font service, or third-party domain is called when a page loads.

10. Your rights

Under GDPR (and UK GDPR for visitors in the United Kingdom), you have the following rights:

  • Access (Article 15): request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Rectification (Article 16): request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Erasure (Article 17): request deletion of your data where the legal basis no longer applies.
  • Restriction (Article 18): request that we limit processing in certain circumstances.
  • Portability (Article 20): receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
  • Objection (Article 21): object to processing based on legitimate interests.

To make a request, email .

11. Right to complain to a supervisory authority

You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.

We would appreciate the opportunity to address any concern directly before you contact a supervisory authority.

12. Children

datestool.com is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

13. California residents

datestool.com does not meet the CCPA/CPRA thresholds for a covered business. We do not sell or share personal information.

CalOPPA disclosures: we collect server log data (IP address, user-agent, URL, timestamp) via our hosting provider only. This is not shared with any third party beyond Bluehost as processor. We do not maintain user accounts. This site does not track visitors and does not respond to Do Not Track (DNT) browser signals because there is no tracking to disable. No third party collects personal information about your online activities across other sites through this site. Material changes to this policy will be reflected in an updated effective date.

14. Data minimisation by design

datestool.com is built to minimise data collection. All calculations run client-side. Fonts and assets are self-hosted. No analytics, advertising, or social widgets are loaded.

15. Changes to this policy

We will update this policy before any material change to how data is processed. The effective date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
